Sammi's First Baseball Game

We just got back from Samantha's first baseball game. We decided to take her to see the Frederick Keys because they are our home town team and it is only 2 minutes away from our house. Not to mention it is a lot cheaper than a major league team and it is full of kids! Sammi had a great time, she did a little better than I thought she would. Our main mistake was sitting in seats where you could see the carousel and as soon as she spotted it she wanted to ride the horsies.

We watched the first three innings and then headed over to the "fun zone" where she rode the carousel and played on the playground for a while. Then we got her some dippin' dots italian ice and watched the end of the game. Samantha made a lot of friends there! After the game they had fireworks, surprisingly good ones too! Samantha enjoyed them. She was sitting in my lap and when the stadium went dark and the fireworks started she seemed to get a little nervous. But I giggles in her ear and ewwwed and aaahhhed and pointed at them and she really got into it with me. It was a lot of fun.

Some Mommy Moments

True Mom Moments

This morning on the way to daycare Samantha tripped over nothing and fell down. She scraped both of her knees, one was bleeding a bit while the other had a little blood. She cried for about 30 seconds and wanted her mommy to kiss it and make it feel better. Poor little girl, Miss Gladys gave her some Band-Aids for her boo boos when we got there. It was the first time that she fell down and got scraped up. It was a real mom moment for me. I'm sure it is the first of many falls!

Yesterday we went to the park after dinner. When I was buckling SAM into her car seat I noticed she had some ketchup around her mouth. I licked my finger and wiped it up. Another mom moment.

What We've Been Up To

We've been really busy the last few weeks. Well, except for last week, but I'll get to that.

Aunt Jen came on July 21st and spent a week with us in Frederick. Sammi enjoyed every moment. Aunt Jen took Sammi to the Zoo, they baked brownies and cookies, we visited Mrs. Angie and the babies, they went shopping with Mrs. Danielle and Mr. Chuck. On Thursday we took Samantha to Chuck E. Cheese for the first time. She had so much fun running around trying out everything. Although, Mr. Chuck E. Cheese himself made her a little shy. And on July 28 they went out to Bel Air to surprise Grandpa on his birthday. Apparently Sammi sang the most beautiful version of Happy Birthday. It wasn't necessarily to the right tune, but it made us all laugh.

On the 29th we went to Sammi's cousin Cullen's 2nd birthday party. There were tons of kids, toys, cake, and bubbles there to keep Sammi occupied. She had a lot of fun and we needed to rush her right to the bath tub after that!

Then Mommy and Daddy left Sammi at Grandpa and Granny's house for a whole week. We missed her so much but they all had a lot of fun. Ken and I rested. A lot.

On Saturday we all met up again at Grandma and Pappy's house in Hershey. It was so good to see my little girl again! We had lunch and headed out to Hershey Park later in the day. Samantha once again had a blast at the park. She rode the mini-scrambler 5 times in a row. Then, Mommy and Daddy went on the soaker coaster and Sammi couldn't stay awake and finally fell asleep.

On Sunday Mommy got to sleep in! It was fantastic!! Samantha hung out at Grandma and Pappy's house and even went swimming in their back yard.

Yesterday was such beautiful weather and we had taken off work a little early so we were able to take Sammi to our local park. She had a blast, and we stayed there for a long time. She loves the slides and even did the big girl swing for a while. It was a good time. But, Samantha doesn't remember the hour we spent at the park. The only thing she seems to remember is that her Mommy and Daddy ripped her away from all the "toys." She cried for about 20 minutes when we left saying "more" over and over again. Although when I said to her "more what" she said "please." She's such a cutie.

Celebrating

Plans are already under way for Samantha's 2nd Birthday Bash. Its amazing how much work needs to go into such a little shin dig. But my gal is worth it. We're going to have it on Sunday, September 24th in Bel Air. I think I might even give baking her a cake myself a try!

A Little Cousin on the Way

We are very excited that Aunt Kelli has a little bean on the way. Samantha was so excited when Mommy and Daddy told her that Kelli heard Hector's heartbeat today. Okay, well, she didn't really know what we were talking about but she's such happy child. Congrats to Aunt Kelli and Uncle Matt.

Yeah, "Jen"

Today started Samantha's two weeks of fun! Since Aunt Jen finished her classes at the University yesterday (Congrats Aunt Jen on your Master's Degree!) she was finally able to come spend some time with us. Jen and Mommy went to pick Samantha up at daycare today and brought her back to Mommy's office to see everyone there. She was super shy at the office but she warmed up when mommy let her sit at my desk and play on the computer.

After the visit at the office Samantha and Aunt Jen came home. By the time Mommy and Daddy got home from work the house was a mess with toys everywhere. Aunt Jen and Sammi were having a great time. After dinner Aunt Jen and Sammi ran around outside chasing Mommy.

Samantha wanted to do everything with Aunt Jen, a great break for Mommy and Daddy but poor Aunt Jen is going to be worn out after these two weeks!

Daddy is off to Chicago tomorrow so Sammi, Aunt Jen, and Mommy are going to look up in the sky at all the planes.

Sammi's First Pigtails

These pictures were taken on July 1st. They didn't last long, but she sure looked cute! Doesn't she look different with them in?

Sammi's own Grandma didn't recognize her yesterday with a barette in. She looked too grown up.
